Tarique Rahman sued for evading tax
The National Board of Revenue on August 4 filed a lawsuit against Tarique Rahman for evading taxes worth Tk 26.86 lakh and hiding information about assets worth about Tk 1.07 crore from his income tax return.
NBR deputy tax commissioner Samia Akhter, who filed the case with the court of the metropolitan sessions judge, said in the case Tarique had evaded the taxes worth Tk 26.86 lakh between 2002 and 2006.
